Milford Galleries presents Yuki Kihara’s major new body of lenticular photography Quarantine Islands that explores the history of the small Islands formerly designated as quarantine facilities in Otago, Canterbury, Wellington and Auckland.
Remarkably and powerfully pertinent in our time of the Covid pandemic, Kihara as Salome stands at the edges of the quarantine islands, the past insistent, the present disarmingly beautiful, the future precariously interconnected and omnipresent.
The preview of this highly anticipated series takes place at Milford Galleries Queenstown on 30 July 2021 from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Yuki Kihara will be talking at the preview.
