Exhibition Text

What is a still life? A collection of objects, flowers in a vase? Can a black stump, a head surrounded by flowers, a figure holding a heart shaped symbol in front of a carved window frame adorned with fern leaves, be a still life work? Does it matter if it is in part or whole?

Still Life is a provocative, diverse exhibition, posing these questions.

It features photography, painting, ceramic, sculpture and works on paper from nine well-known artists.
