Kawarau 2 features new paintings by Andy Leleisi’uao, Paul McLachlan, Michael McHugh, Mike Petre, and Karl Maughan, new glass works by Galia Amsel plus new bronze crucibles by Paul Mason. Included is the significant, poignant and beautiful, Stories of a Lost Land, a major new sculpture by Paul Dibble featuring a pair of huia birds and golden kōwhai flowers as well as a suite of smaller edition works. Aaron Scythe’s distinctive ceramics, two significant lattices by Ian Scott and Chris Bailey’s deep-recessed carved bronze mask Te Ngau o te Rangi add further dynamics.
