Following its successful debut at Cairns Regional Gallery, Yuki Kihara's newest body of work, Der Papālagi (The White Man), will be presented for the first time in New Zealand at her solo exhibition at St Paul St Gallery, opening 5:30 pm, Thursday 23 February.
The exhibition raises questions around Samoan nationalism and the politics of ‘home’ and ‘belonging’ while exploring the ethical boundaries between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation.
